You are welcome to post at this blog. You are asked, however, to refrain from the following:

Why is Anglia the preferred term rather than Albion (asked earlier about asters)?
Why is much of the disputatio and taberna in English rather than Latin?

Yes and we know how all those other languages went into the formation of the English language and Western thought.
ReplyDeleteI would presume "Anglia" is used because it is the more modern term as opposed to Albion, which is the more ancient term.
In regard to disputatio and taberna, I don't know. Um, it's easier?

ReplyDeleteYes, it is easier. That's why I use the English version. For languages other than Latin, the discussion et al are in the same language. For the Latin Wikipedia, most of the underlying structure is in English and the Latin is just a patina.

I didn't. I was just pointing out what other languages had Wikipedia versions of comparable size.
Anglia, being medieval, is more modern than Albion, which is Roman. But England is even more modern.
