U of L chooses basketball success over integrity

You are welcome to post at this blog. You are asked, however, to refrain from the following:
1. Name-calling;
2. Questioning the motives or integrity of people you have never met just because you disagree with them;
3. Using obscenities or other expressions not appropriate or necessary to civilized discussion;
4. Taking disagreement personally;
5. Demeaning or insulting remarks.
The host will attempt to abide by the same rules and only asks that you not provide him with the temptation to do so in return by violating them.
Failure to comply with these rules can result (depending solely on the arbitrary and inscrutable will of the host) in the deletion of offending posts and suspension of posting privileges. Such measures are more likely if you post anonymously.
This is Kentucky, where basketball is the state religion. Whatever his moral failings, Pitino is undeniably a great basketball coach. It would take a lot more than one indiscretion, six years ago, to get him fired.
ReplyDeleteGeepers, Martin, yer acting like a Bostonian with this tirade. (Trust me, no one, NO ONE, detests Pitino more than a Celtics fan. If you don't bleed green, you just don't get it.)
ReplyDeleteOf course, the implicit cheering of extortion and blackmail that is hidden in your rants is interesting in a macabre sort of way.
Art,
ReplyDeleteYes, of course I forgot that condemning someone for doing something bad logically implies a belief that you agree it is acceptable for someone to extort them for it.
I'll try to be more careful next time.
