But you know it’s strange, the same music that they kicked me out of school for is the same kind of music they play in their churches today. The difference is, I know I am playing for the devil and they don’t.”

The Devil's music as a means of worship?
Philosopher James Chastek relates an interesting anecdote about Jerry Lee Lewis having been kicked out of a Bible college for playing rock music. "He played a concert one night and":

Hmm.. Maybe Jerry Lee thinks the devil = money. If so, he's spot-on with his statement.
